Covid-19: Like everyone else we had to close. We are now open and welcome you back

with new  restrictions in place. We are doing things differently and you will now have

TO BOOK in advance of your visit. We are also restricting numbers of visitors at any one time.

It is important that we keep everyone safe (volunteers, staff and visitors).

June 21st - we will still maintain some restrictions regardless of government directives

We are open to bookings

Lazy Sunday - group bookings are currently restricted to

a max of 6 people including all children (under 4's and toddlers) for all Open days

Refreshments area and shop will be open

 Connect with Nature Tuesday

You, our staff and volunteers are our main concern, so rest assured that we’re following the latest guidance as well as our own safety rules and we are only opening as and when we can do so safely.

What you need to know

To help keep you and our staff, volunteers and local communities safe, we're limiting the number of people who can visit on any one day. And we have introduced a booking system to manage that.

What will be different

Bookings will be accepted  up to 11pm the night before your visit

Some paths are now one-way to help you keep a safe distance from other households. And we’ve closed some areas where people might naturally gather.

A toilet is available but please use sanitizers before and after use. But if you possibly can please go to loo before your visit. We simply want to make things as safe as possible for everyone. All children must be accompanied to the toilet.

We’ve increased our cleaning regime, particularly our toilets. And we have plenty of hand sanitizer available around the site.

No children will be allowed in the Barn and only one person will be allowed  to shop at a time. All payments must be contact less.

We’ve spaced the bench seating out to keep you safe. Do not move them.

We will still request a 2 metre distancing especially around volunteers and staff

We have very few people with a lot to do. Please refer to FAQ's before sending an email

We all know that the situation changes frequently. We do our best to keep the information here on our website completely up to date, but sometimes that’s not 100% possible. You may find that on the day you visit we’ve had to close something, or we’ve been able to open up something that was previously restricted. We hope that doesn’t affect your enjoyment of your day.

So, relax, take your time, look, watch and listen, smell and enjoy being surrounded by nature.

Please note our opening times are currently 10.30am to 4.30pm, with last admission one hour before closing at 3.30pm.

Please note

a) We are not a BYO picnic area - cake and scones can be purchased from the refreshments counter.

b) Dogs,  as always dogs are not allowed in the actual Nature Reserve

c) Please do not leave any rubbish or litter behind - please take it home with you

d) Please do not bring anyone other than those stated on your pass. (We will have to turn them away)

e) Please adhere to your visiting time schedule (Wildzones)

f) No climbing on tree or log piles or going into the water

g) Please note that we are not an adventure play ground but a home for wildlife

h) Children must be attended at all times especially by ponds (You are responsible for your child’s safety). Also ground is uneven in many areas.

How do I Book?

We are carefully managing the total number of people who visit on any one day to help keep everyone safe.

Everyone, whether you’re a Naturezones member/friend or existing pass holder must book in advance for the day you wish to visit. Please bring your members card/pass/ voucher with you.

Please book for everyone in your party, including babies, toddlers so we can manage numbers and keep everyone safe.

We cannot accept group bookings at this time

Only those with a pre booked pass will be admitted

We’ve added some specific measures to our standard Code of Conduct to help during Covid-19.

Additional coronavirus measures

Do not visit if any member of your household has symptoms of coronavirus.

Do not ask us to make exceptions

Follow Government guidance on vulnerable groups.

Keep at least two metres between you and other households, staff and volunteers - regardless of Government directives. This is how we want to operate.

The Pavilion will be open to one group at a time (max 4 people from same group) but do not linger too long

Follow any one-way systems and queuing procedures.

Don’t loiter in the buildings. Move through without delay.

Wash your hands regularly. We have hand sanitizer points.

Keep to paths

Do not go into the Bird hide if the door is closed. If open max 2 people at a time from same group

Do not make a group booking of more than 6 people

Our code of conduct

Wear suitable clothing and footwear.

Follow instructions given by staff and volunteers.

Supervise children and vulnerable adults in your care. We want children to be able to run around but make sure they avoid other visitors.

Don’t drop litter.

Consider others when taking photos.

Follow advice and instructions on signs.

Don’t go beyond any enclosure barriers, or into areas marked ‘closed’ or ‘staff only’, or enter any water bodies.

Do not disturb the wildlife or pick flowers or fruit.

Details of how to support Naturezones' work can be found HERE

Q You are fully booked. When will I be able to visit?

We’re sorry you’ve not been able to make a booking this time. We’re taking safety on site very seriously and have set strict limits on the number of visitors per day. However, we hope to be able to increase that daily allocation as we observe how things work on the ground.

If you’re a member, thank you very much for keeping up your support throughout lockdown. Please bear with us through this next couple of weeks while demand is high.

Q Can I purchase a ticket on arrival at a Naturezones (NWET)?

No. All tickets must be bought on our website and must be accompanied by a valid booking for the day of visit.

Q Can we book a ticket without the refreshments?

We are sorry but not at this time. We are doing our best to support our organisation and fulfil the requirements of the majority of our visitors under very limited circumstances. (Wildzone does not include refreshments)

Q Can I bring a picnic?

I am sorry but we do not have a picnic area. All food is provided by Naturezones. Food is not allowed in the nature reserve

Q Do I need to book even for free visitors?

Yes, please book for everyone in your party, including babies, toddlers and carers, so we can manage numbers and keep everyone safe.

Q Is my ticket for a specific day?

Yes, all tickets are valid only on the specified day.

Q Can I bring my dog?

As always dogs are not allowed in the actual nature reserve

Q I’m a member, why do I need to book?

We need to limit the number of people at our Naturezones each open day to ensure that visitors and staff are safe. So all members need to make a booking so we know we’re not exceeding the maximum safe numbers. There is no charge for this. You’ll be asked to show your booking confirmation and your valid membership card at the admission desk. members are entitled to a free cuppa. If wishes they can order food when booking

Q I’m visiting with both members and non-members, what should I do?

You should make two separate bookings, one for the number of members in your party and one for those requiring tickets. Due to number limits we recommend you book all tickets at the same time

Q Will I receive priority booking as a member???

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer our members priority booking, as charity tax law means that we must make our centres available to everyone – including non-members.

Q How do I use the tickets and/or booking made online?

You will be emailed a booking confirmation that will include your unique reference number and a barcode. We would encourage you to keep this ticket handy on your smart phone and present the barcode at admissions. If you do not have a smart phone you can make a note of the reference number and read it out to admissions staff when asked. Alternatively, you can print out the booking confirmation.

Q I bought a PiW ticket before Naturezones centres closed, can I still use it?

Yes you can use Spring Pass Deals purchased from 21st January 2020. Most people used their vouchers when we were open last year. Remaining voucher holders can still visit but there is a supplement. Use the supplement  ticket option on the booking page for the date you wish to visit, make a booking and bring both the original PisW voucher and booking with you to be checked at admissions. THIS OPTION VALID UNTIL 1ST OCTOBER 2021

Q Can I make group bookings?

While we have limited capacity at our centres I’m afraid we won’t be able to take group bookings.

Q Can I use a wheelchair?

We have two paths one in the woodland and one in the meadow that allows, albeit limited, wheelchair access into the nature reserve

Q Do you issue refunds?

As a charity we can only issue refunds in exceptional circumstances. This does not include inclement weather. Applications for refunds must be received 36 hours before the day of the ticket. i.e if you have booked for Sunday we need to know by miday Friday

Q I have pre-booked as a member but now can’t visit – can I cancel my booking??

If you are a member, please contact us 48 hours before the day of the ticket to let us know so that we can offer your space to other visitors.

Q How can I donate to support Naturezones work at this time?

You can donate towards our work on our web site Thank you so much for supporting our vital conservation work at this time.

Q Can I get my money back on admission if I join as a member online after my visit?

Unfortunately, you are unable to redeem an admission ticket against an online membership at this time. If you are thinking of joining Naturezones Wildlife Education Trust (NWET) please join online prior to purchasing an admission ticket to be able to gain free access.
