You, our staff and volunteers are our main concern, so rest assured that we’re implementing safety rules. 2 metre distancing and facemask indoors.

What you need to know

What will be different

Bookings will be accepted  up to 11pm the night before your visit

A toilet is available but please use sanitizers before and after use. But if you possibly can please go to loo before your visit. We simply want to make things as safe as possible for everyone. All children must be accompanied to the toilet.

We’ve increased our cleaning regime, particularly our toilets. And we have plenty of hand sanitizer available around the site.

No children will be allowed in the Barn and only one person will be allowed  to shop at a time.

We’ve spaced the bench seating out to keep you safe. Please do not move them.

We will still request a 2 metre distancing especially around volunteers and staff

We have very few people with a lot to do. Please refer to FAQ's before sending an email

We all know that the situation changes frequently. We do our best to keep the information here on our website completely up to date, but sometimes that’s not 100% possible. You may find that on the day you visit we’ve had to close something, or we’ve been able to open up something that was previously restricted. We hope that doesn’t affect your enjoyment of your day.

So, relax, take your time, look, watch and listen, smell and enjoy being surrounded by nature.

Please note our opening times are currently 10.30am to 4.00pm, with last admission being 3.30pm.

Please note

a) We are not a BYO picnic area - cake and scones can be purchased from the refreshments counter.

b) Dogs,  as always dogs are not allowed in the actual Nature Reserve

c) Please do not leave any rubbish or litter behind - please take it home with you

d) No climbing on tree or log piles or going into the water

e) Please note that we are not an adventure play ground but a home for wildlife. We restrict numbers  to protect the integrity of the nature reserve. Groups in excess of 8 people should pre arrange their visit

h) Children must be attended at all times especially by ponds (You are responsible for your child’s safety). Also the ground is uneven in many areas.

How do I Book?

Booking is now optional. However,

We are carefully managing the total number of people who visit on any one day to help keep everyone safe.

Groups in excess of 8 people should pre arrange their visit

Please book for everyone in your party, including babies, toddlers so we can manage numbers and keep everyone safe.

We’ve added some specific measures to our standard Code of Conduct to help during Covid-19 and it's aftermath.

Additional coronavirus measures

Do not visit if any member of your household has symptoms of coronavirus.

Do not ask us to make exceptions

Follow Government guidance on vulnerable groups.

Keep at least two metres between you and other households, staff and volunteers - regardless of Government directives. This is how we want to operate.

The Pavilion will be open to one group at a time (max 4 people from same group) but do not linger too long

Follow any one-way systems and queuing procedures.

Don’t loiter in the buildings. Move through without delay.

Wash your hands regularly. We have hand sanitizer points.

Keep to paths

Do not go into the Bird hide if the door is closed. If open max 2 people at a time from same group

Our code of conduct

Wear suitable clothing and footwear.

Follow instructions given by staff and volunteers.

Supervise children and vulnerable adults in your care. We want children to be able to run around but make sure they avoid other visitors and that you are watching them at all times

Don’t drop litter.

Consider others when taking photos.

Follow advice and instructions on signs.

Don’t go beyond any enclosure barriers, or into areas marked ‘closed’ or ‘staff only’, or enter any water bodies.

Do not disturb the wildlife or pick flowers or fruit.

Dogs are not allowed in the nature reserve but are welcome on a short lead around the barn. Please be aware that not everyone loves dogs

THANK YOU

We have planned various activities  - BOOKINGS

Find the Missing Snowmen

Quick - find the missing snowmen before they melt. 10 sparkly snowmen have been lost in the nature reserve. Can you find them all? A Christmas chocolate bar will be waiting for those you after you have discovered where they are.
Give yourself time to explore the meadow and woodland. Do some pond dipping, make a twig tower for the little wild animals that live at Naturezones. Look-up for holes in trees where the bats and birds like to live.

FAQ's

Q You are fully booked. When will I be able to visit?

We’re sorry you’ve not been able to make a booking this time. We’re taking safety on site very seriously and have set strict limits on the number of visitors per day. However, we hope to be able to increase that daily allocation as we observe how things work on the ground.

If you’re a member, thank you very much for keeping up your support throughout lockdown. Please bear with us through this next couple of weeks while demand is high.

Q Can I purchase a ticket on arrival at a Naturezones (NWET)?

Yes.

Q Can we book a ticket without the refreshments?

You can pay at the gate. The Gate price excludes refreshments

Q Can I bring a picnic?

I am sorry but we do not have a picnic area. All food is provided by Naturezones. Food is not allowed in the nature reserve

Q Do I need to book even for free visitors?

You no longer have to book but if you do it helps us to prepare for your visit

Q Is my ticket for a specific day?

Yes, all pre booked tickets are valid only on the specified day.

Q Can I bring my dog?

As always dogs are not allowed in the actual nature reserve

Q I’m visiting with both members and non-members, what should I do?

You can book your guests in advance or ay at the gate

Q How do I use the tickets and/or booking made online?

We have a list of bookings for each day so there is no need to print out your ticket.

You will be emailed a booking confirmation that will include your unique reference number and a barcode. We would encourage you to keep this ticket handy on your smart phone and present the barcode at admissions. If you do not have a smart phone you can make a note of the reference number and read it out to admissions staff when asked. Alternatively, you can print out the booking confirmation.

Q I bought a PiW ticket before Naturezones centres closed, can I still use it?

Yes you can use Spring Pass Deals purchased from 21st January 2020. Most people used their vouchers when we were open last year. Remaining voucher holders can still visit but there is a supplement. Use the supplement  ticket option on the booking page for the date you wish to visit, make a booking and bring both the original PisW voucher and booking with you to be checked at admissions. THIS OPTION VALID UNTIL 1ST OCTOBER 2021

Q Can I make group bookings?

We strongly advise that you make a group booking (8 +) in advance. Please contact us to make arrangements. We can also accept private group bookings on days other than our pen days

Q I have pre-booked as a member but now can’t visit – can I cancel my booking??

If you are a member, please contact us 48 hours before the day of the ticket to let us know so that we can offer your space to other visitors.

Q How can I donate to support Naturezones work at this time?

You can donate towards our work on our web site www.naturezones.org.uk. Thank you so much for supporting our vital conservation work at this time.

Q Can I get my money back on admission if I join as a member online after my visit?

If you are thinking of joining Naturezones Wildlife Education Trust (NWET) please join online prior to purchasing an admission ticket to be able to gain free access.
